How to write a one-page progress report
A one-page report forces you to decide what matters. Its readers - a board, a donor, a director - want to know three things: are we on track, what is at risk, and what do you need from them. Everything else can go in an annex.
Start with a three-sentence summary that would stand on its own. Then show a few indicators against their targets, with a status anyone can read at a glance, and the state of your partners. Keep highlights to facts: what happened, with a number when you have one.
End with the risks and what you are doing about them, the priorities for the next period and, if you need one, the decision you are asking for. If the page overflows, cut words rather than shrinking the font.

What should a one-page progress report include?
A short summary, the main highlights, a few indicators against their targets, the status of partners or activities, the main risks with what is being done about them, the next priorities and any decision needed.
How is the status of an indicator decided?
By the actual value against the target: on track at 100% or more, some delay from 75%, off track below 75%. For an indicator that should go down, write the target as the reduction you aim for.
